Scheduler status · Dentrix
Dentrix integration with Velyn Dental.
Velyn has applied for Dentrix API access. Approval is on Dentrix's timeline, so today Velyn operates in routing-only mode behind your existing Dentrix scheduling system.
Current status
Where the Dentrix integration stands today.
Velyn has applied for API access with Dentrix. Approval runs on Dentrix's clock, so direct scheduler booking cannot be turned on yet. The status is tracked publicly in our scheduler-status overview and updates when vendor access changes. Routing-only is available today for offices that want call answering before live calls move on direct booking.
What Velyn handles today
Routing-only is live behind your Dentrix scheduler.
Each capability is paired with what staff still handles. Velyn does not write to your scheduler yet — booked appointments still land with staff for entry until direct booking is ready.
Answers calls and takes structured messages.
The patient name, callback number, reason, and urgency level go into a plain-English summary your team can act on.
Routes urgent calls to your team via your existing pathway.
Pain, swelling, post-op, and anything outside the pre-approved scope escalates — Velyn does not attempt clinical triage.
Sends summaries to the inbox or workflow your office picks.
Clinical judgment and treatment advice stay with staff. The system surfaces the call, it does not decide on care.
Operates behind your existing scheduling system.
The office phone line stays unchanged until your team signs off on routing. Live calls move only after review.
What’s pending
What unlocks when vendor access lands.
Once Dentrix approves the API access we applied for, Velyn can write approved routine bookings directly into your Dentrix schedule. We do not publish a confirmed date — the timeline is on the vendor's side.

FAQ for Dentrix practices
What office managers ask first.
Will Velyn change anything about our Dentrix setup before API approval clears?
No. Velyn does not write to your Dentrix schedule today. Routing-only means Velyn answers the call, sends urgent ones to staff, and leaves a callback task — nothing in Dentrix changes until API access is approved and your team explicitly turns on direct booking.
More general questions about how Velyn answers calls, BAA, and pricing are on the Integrations overview.

Offices on the pilot list get updates first as PMS-specific gates change. Routing-only can start today behind your existing Dentrix scheduler, with direct booking added only after the PMS-specific gate clears.
